Christmas is a dreaded time of year for many people. A dreaded time that comes around each and every year. It is not the season, that of Christmas which is dreaded – most of the people hate the Christmas shopping and Christmas preparation leading to the festive holidays. It is something the same what we have to do each year. Something most of us dread that it is an activity that’s lined with the landmines and mishaps. All don’t like the idea of giving gifts taking to this type of mishaps. It is very tough and stressful job to finding the perfect gift for everyone.

It is for all of us that to think at one time or the other, have make somebody worry that what to get a family member, a co-worker, a boss, or to a loved one. How to please someone, by a perfect gift? A perfect gift is that which can satisfy to the person. Perhaps the solution for all our worries relating to the gift giving can be found in only one simple way. That is you have to get personal! Actually the more personal a gift is , not surprise to anyone, the more it should be appreciated. It will be remembered forever if the gift is unique.

Some of our appreciated gifts are those that have been made for us personally by the givers. These gifts including a homemade Mother’s day card from your son or daughter, lover’s initial carved near a favorite meeting place, a handmade gift from a cherished uncle or aunt…..etc..

We all like the gifts and gifts that have a personal touch mean the most to us. Gifts are made particularly for us always have some meaning and feelings that go well beyond the object itself. They take on a whole new life for themselves. So for this Christmas, you have to keep this idea in your mind that when you’re getting tense with all your gift buying duties, always go for the personal. Always buy any gift by your own choice for the appreciated most. That gift is truly being appreciated and cherished.

As a person that is continuously purchasing for their co workers, it is quite frustrating to say the least when you do not know what you want to buy for a gift. In the corporate world, the purchase of Christmas gifts is something that is quite touchy. There are often questions of how much to spend, what to purchase and what will be appreciated and what will wind up being re-gifted. For Christmas this year, determine which the right gift to give is by doing these tips.

Send out a memo to the corporate office determining what the policy will be this year on Christmas gifts. Perhaps suggest an exchange among employees to help everyone to only have to buy for the person they get. Or, suggest no gifts but to give donations to local charities at the Christmas party instead. The goal is to get everyone on the same page.

Corporate gifts should be highly appropriate. Be very careful when purchasing gifts for Christmas that are funny or obnoxious as you do not want to offend anyone that you have to work with each day. Gifts should be classy and offer a real use. No one really needs ten pencil sets but they may appreciate a gift certificate to the local coffee shop they visit each day. Christmas gifts should always be purchased based on what the person would like, not what you can find on sale.

Corporate gifts should be carefully chosen. Keep in mind the person that you are buying for. If they gift is not something that they can use or will want, you are simply wasting your money. In the corporate world, the best thing to do is to set the rules before the seasons starts. Christmas can then be enjoyable for everyone.

But what makes it all the more exciting in our household is the fact that the entire family comes together to put up the Christmas decorations. This has been a time honored tradition in our family from the past several years. In fact, I still can’t recall how or when it started, but it all probably came into being the day my grand father walked into the house with a mysterious gift box wrapped under his arm. I was just a kid then, but naturally I was curious. So as he came into the house and proceeded to recline on his couch, we all (namely, my sister, brothers and assorted cousins) gathered around him to see what he had brought home.

We were all secretly hoping that it was some candy, for grand father had a knack for sourcing the most amazing candy! But then, he was a man full of surprises and one could never be sure what he had come home with. Grand father saw the twinkle in all our eyes and slowly (almost laboriously) opened the box to reveal – you would never guess – an antique Christmas decoration! What attraction an antique Christmas decoration could hold for a ten year old is beyond my comprehension even today, but to be honest, I was enthralled. Just seeing that antique Christmas decoration (don’t ask me how I knew that it was an antique Christmas decoration; my grand father told me!) made my little face light up with joy. Grand father then slowly proceeded to explain the story behind the antique Christmas decoration.

He told us how a humble pheasant in rural Russia had lovingly carved up a piece of walnut wood to make the shape of the antique Christmas decoration. He then imaginatively led us through the various things the pheasant must have done to create each of the unique features of the decoration till it took its beautiful shape and size. He also narrated to us how the antique Christmas decoration must have lain in some musty old attic till it was discovered by some shrewd relative or junk collector, who, having recognized its true value, must have sold it to the antique dealer from whence my grandfather bought it.

Even today, as we all gather around Christmas time to decorate the tree in our living room, we take great pride in the first of all antique Christmas decorations our grand father procured for us. Ever since we could afford it, one or the other of us has taken turns to buy some or the other antique Christmas decoration for the tree. But even now, the pride of place, the top belongs to the antique Christmas decoration – a beautiful walnut star – that grandfather bought.

Mothers always like to receive some household items. Buy her framed scenery or some decorative stuff for the kitchen. Fathers love clothing items. You can either knit a sweater for him yourself or have it hand-knit from someone else who’s an expert. Have Merry Christmas written on it or something like ‘Father, I love you!’. Children love to have toys they have recently seen in super market. Ask them to make a list of their favorite gift items and prioritize them. Use that list to buy some gifts and combine them to make pairs or some other new stuff.

For older children, you can buy a pair of shoes newly arrived in market, or give a gift of a personalized team jersey with your son’s name on the back. You can also get him a signed photograph of his favorite player. For girls, colorful and funky clothing items are always an attraction. Another idea is to buy her some jewelry she has always wanted. A colorful scrapbook or something for her bedroom will also be loved by her.

There can be plenty of ideas for your spouse. Plan a romantic dinner, or buy a couple of play tickets. You can also buy something really special and intimate. Watch your favorite movie together and then give something as a surprise while it’s playing. A hand-made Christmas card is always a treasure to keep.

So, plan ahead and give your loved ones something special this Christmas!
